How to Read Odds in Three Formats
The same odds can be written three different ways — decimal, fractional and American. You will usually see decimal format at jlive, but knowing all three is useful.
Example 1 — The Same Odds in Three Formats
Say the odds for team A to win are: decimal 2.25, fractional 5/4, American +125 — all three represent the same probability. A ৳200 bet returns a total of ৳450 on a win (৳250 profit + ৳200 original stake). If the bet loses, ৳200 is gone.
Example 2 — Odds on the Favourite
The odds for team B to win: decimal 1.25, fractional 1/4, American -400. A negative American odds figure shows how much you need to stake to make ৳100 profit. A ৳200 bet returns ৳250 (৳50 profit) — the odds are this low precisely because team B is the favourite.
Multi Bet Example
Three separate selections — odds of 1.50, 1.80 and 1.90 respectively — combined give combined odds of 1.50 × 1.80 × 1.90 ≈ 5.13. A ৳100 bet returns ৳513 if all three are correct. But if any one of them is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost. A multi bet offers higher returns but also higher risk.
